About 45 minutes outside of Sapa, in the mountains of NW Vietnam, there is a small village called Lao Chai. There, we worked with the Hmong people to establish an educational center for the 153 village children. The children’s age range from about 3 to 11 years old.
Basically, we converted a communal village room into a place where the children can come to enhance their education. The new room was designed with seven different stations, depending on the child’s age, each with its own purpose. Compared to other projects this one was exceptionally challenging, especially with the language barrier and not overstepping cultural boundaries.
The project took five days to complete, with a total project cost of $762
